Strokes
If my opponent hits a serve or return that second bounces very near the end line can a flick return still be used? Does it become more difficult to execute a successful flick further from the net?
Hi Jeremiah,
This becomes a little more difficult to flick if the ball is closer to the end line but it is still very possible. Look at making sure you contact the ball near the top of the bounce so that you have a better margin for error.
You would also be watching carefully for the one that strays long so that you can topspin it. Even if the ball is a little higher n this situation you may be able to come over the top of the table and topspin it.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
