Forehand Smash

Strokes

Hello Alois,

During a rally, my opponent might accidently hit the ball high. I know that this is a good time to smash the ball but when I do, I am unready for the unexpected ball and I either miss the ball completely or I hit the ball but the ball flies off the table. How do I find the right time and position to be able to smash the ball faster and precisely?

Kind regards,

Gerard

Hi Gerard,

One of the things I see a lot is that players don't use the time while the ball is in the air to move into position.

Watch the tutorial on the Forehand Smash and you will see that we emphasise these things.

Often when the ball is in the air you almost get mesmerised by the ball and your feet stop.

Forehand Pivot Footwork

The pivot is where you are moving around your backhand corner to play a forehand. This is something that will come in handy in a match situation, especially if you have a stronger forehand. We will show you the best way to move in the pivot footwork.
