What is the serve the commentary called the scorpion serve? What advantages does it give?

I thought it was called Scorpion serve because the way she moves/starts the serve.
What she does after it gives different effects depending on how she hit's the ball.
In my opinion it's the border of a legal serve because she throws the ball to her body and hard to see what she does.
