Strokes
Hi alois,i want to know that how to control a heavy spin stroke?
HI Somshekar,
You need to watch the contact of the bat on the ball when your opponent is hitting it. Then try to determine the direction the ball will spin. If it has sidespin it will spin to the side. To counteract that sidespin you need to angle your bat away from the direction that the ball will spin. If the ball wants to go to the right then angle your bat so that it is facing to the left.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
