Speed glueing

Hello, I'm a normal table tennis player and I wanna speed glue my bat because the speed glue is very cheap and has a lot inside one.

Even though it is illegal now, what will happen when i do it and play in a tournament (under 15)

And is it true that you must replace the glue every week?

When you're glueing again, do you have to peel the old glue off?

Thank you!!!

Hi Chris,

There are a couple of things with speed glue.  FIrstly it is illegal because it does enhance your performance.  If you leave it for a week or so the effect will wear off.

One of the main reasons speed glue was banned was because the fumes of many of them are harmful.  I wouldn't recommend anyone especially a junior using it for this reason alone.

If there is a build up of glue on the back of your rubber it is best to remove it because it will effect the performance of the rubber.  However that is not easy sometimes.

So the effect will run off in 1 week, it's harmful and it's illegal.

However... what is you where a mask or watch out? and what will happen when you play in the tornament with the speed glued racket ann get caught???

If you get caught using the speed glue during matches you can be banned from the tournament.

Hi Arjun,

Sealing it will make the blade a little faster.

what is sealing?

just a way to protect the blade by applying a special varnish which prevents splinters to come out of the blade when you remove the bats rubber

You can go to any general carpenter and tell them to polish your bat with a very thin layer, they call using wood varnish on a wood surface polishing or giving it a finishing that or you can just do it yourself by getting a wood varnish. Although it is recommended that you use some table tennis bat sealer like joola blade sealing varnish or andro free seal. Take a look at it on megaspin
