hi

i use the chinese style of looping( arm all most straight) but everybody says my stroke is too long. when i see the chinese players such as ma long, their stroke is very big and they still have so much time. how do they do it?

also in training i can move really well but sometimes i tournaments when playing better people i cant move as well and i stretch for the ball and i miss it, but normally in training i could kill it easily. how can i overcome this problem

thanks

Hi Jimmy,

A big stroke is OK but you do need a lot of speed to move into position because you need to have good position to make such a big stroke.  The reason that Ma Long can do it so well is because he trains several hours a day over many years.

When you are playing better players they are probably hitting the ball a little faster and placing the ball better.  The other thing to consider is that in a tournament you may be a little nervous.  One of the first things that stops when you are nervous is your legs.
