Hi Alois and Jeff,

i have a good topspin but the main thing is i dont give the ball correct timing because of which the ball sometimes miss. Can you tell me the correct timing for forehand and backhand topspin?

Hi Utkarsh,

If someone was to throw a ball to your forehand side, and you were to catch it with 2 hands, this is roughly the spot where you wish to hit the ball from. You need to try and move your feet for each shot so you get into this position. From there you will get the timing right.

For the backhand you want to wait for the ball to come fairly close to you. You don't want to be reaching too far in front of your body as you will start to lose control.

on friday there is tournament in which if i would select i can go to national level individual. can you give me any tips , tactics or  any help regarding the play

Hi Utkarsh,

A few things.  Make sure you get plenty of sleep and eat well in the next few days.

On the day, think about each player you are going to play and try to work out some basic tactics that you will start with.

Most of all though enjoy the experience.

Being nervous is really normal.  Just take it on board and use those nerves to sharpen you up.

i can't do the sidespin forehand topspin in which we have to drop our wrist. is the action same as a normal topspin or thre are slight changes??
