The backhand flick is used to attack against short balls that would bounce twice on the table if you did not hit them. The stroke is most often used when returning serve. You can play the stroke against a short backspin, sidespin or topsin serve. The backhand flick can also be played against a short push.

Tips On Playing The Backhand Flick

  1. Hit the ball at the top of the bounce
  2. Hit the ball flat like a mini smash
  3. The bat starting angle depends on the spin
  4. Move your foot in to get closer to the ball
