Hello.

I like and value your advices in table tennis very much!...

And I want to know :

Is there a moment of pressing with palm or any part of the thumb just before throwing the ball in the air  at service ?

Is there techniques(hold-ball-palm ) for more precise accurate throwing the ball?

This is my weakness...I want to learn more.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Il,

Thanks for your kind words.

I find if you press your thumb in towards your palm you get a little cup on your palm that allows you to control the ball better.

The best way to practice throwing the ball is to put a sheet of paper on the floor in front of you.  then throw the ball up and try to land it on the piece of paper.  If that gets too easy, make the paper smaller.  For best results, make sure you are doing this from your normal ready position to serve.

Humm,

That is a good idea. I to have the same problem. I don't have a problem with cupping the ball, but when tossing it up. I sometimes don't make a vertical toss and miss the ball when falls to striking level. I guess by tossing the ball up and having it bounce off the piece of paper would help a lot. Is there any other suggestions that might help with the ball toss when serving?

throw it into the air and catch it without moving

Repeat and go higher until you hit the ceiling (physical or otherwise)
