Is It Too Late?

PingSkills Show

For the blog today we are highlighting an older video that we have not featured on the site. The video is an episode of our PingSkills show where we interview the great Brian Berry, a legend of Australian Table Tennis. Brian started at the age of 17 and ended up winning the over 40 and over 50 Australian singles titles. He also represented Australia at many World Veterans Championships reaching the last 16 in 3 separate age categories.

We also have our drill of the week, the tip of the week, and our tournament wrap covering the ITTF World Tour grand finals from a few years back.

Hi Alois and Jeff, I was just wondering whether you coded your website or where you made it? Thanks and I am really liking the tutorials!

Very helpful video, indeed. I found a lot of golden nuggets in it. Thanks for sharing this.

I started at the age of 13 and quit in final year at high school to study. I was winning 50% in district level. I played against Peter Powell (losing 25-23 in the final game).

I went on to play other sports and came back to TT on several stages. After a 30 year break I came back to TT at the age of 70 and was rubbish and was put in the bottom grade (E) in Adelaide NE region. I am now 72 and about to play in B grade. I am a level 1 coach and teach children and adults (for free).

The video was very interesting, but I think I am too late to do really well. My reflexes are still pretty good but my body is more limited in the amount I can train without injuring myself. However the coaching is very rewarding and I have made lots of friends. I am still improving fairly rapidly. Who knows how far I can/will go?
