would you recommend an average 15 yo to change from normal rubber he has been playing to shot pip with rubber to improve his table tennis?

Hi TY,

In general I wouldn't recommend it until the player has good established feel and technique.  However, if you think that they have a game that really suits the pimple play then that would be OK to move them on to that type of rubber.

I would ask how long the player has been playing and how much they have developed.

Thanks.  He has only been playing for 2 years under me.  Another coach come along and because he uses short pimple with sponge convinced him to switch.  I tried but unsuccessful to convinced him and mother.  This is the second month and he is struggling with the new rubber.
