Coach....
I am a PenHold player, but previously I started off buying a blade which is for shakehand-hold. More headaches when the shop glued the rubber all the way to the handle borderline, and when I hold it penhold, I could not have a comfortable grip.
As previously I did not know that a rubber can be easily peeled from the blade, out of haste, I took a knife and cut across a thin slice of the rubber near the handle, this took away the manufacturer's logo, brand. model. and ITTF logo. This helped me to have a comfortable grip with penhold.
I have found myself a new blade which can work well with penhold type and the rubber can be glued max to handle. I plan to transfer the rubber from the old blade to this new blade, and plan to re-glue the cut-off slice to the new blade too. Will it be considered legal in any competition using this "two-piece complete" rubber racquet?
Thanks in advance for your advice...
Hi Lionel,
Unfortunately, it will be illegal because the surface has to be even and you can't have any cuts or joins in it. This will depend on the level of competition you are playing and how strict they are.
Should you use a protective film to cover your rubber and add protection
