Advanced bat for beginner

I am a beginner in playing table tennis and I was given (by a family member) a Gergely 21 with tenergy 64 and Stiga Innova rubbers. I am currently using this bat but I think it's too much for me. Will I be able to learn everything (I mean everything like basics and advanced moves) with this bat? Or do I need to convert this bat into a beginner bat? If so, what can I do to convert this bat into a beginner one without replacing the blade? (Because I want to keep the blade as much as possible due to reasons) or should I really replace the whole bat?

Hi John,

I would change the rubber on the blade.  Keep the rubbers stored because you may be able to use them later.

Get a rubber like Sriver or Mark V on it to start with.  This will allow you to control the ball batter.

When you advance you can change the rubber back and put the Tenergy and Innova back on.

The thickness of a table tennis table is the most important aspect of a table to ensure you get a true consistent bounce. Other things to consider are the net, portability, and storage space.
