Hi coach,

I need some suggestions, I am playing a team tournament in my university although we have won one match but still i am fearful of maybe losing the next one although i known my opponent, but i am feeling a bit nervous. Every one has come to known that i do not have a really powerful backhand  i can just push with back hand and chop but a really fast serve destroys my back hand. I feel nervous some times, I have one day to practice and improve my back hand technique, I need to known how can i remain consistent how can i keep the pressure on him. I want to attack first but i have a fear i might miss. And i need one more advice. I known my opponent has a really simple serve but quick i need some suggestion how to play a back hand flick i have already seen the video on your site, But in order make that flick quick i sometimes mess around, Please answer.

Thanks Coach.

Hi Haziq,

Firstly don't worry so much about the result of the match.  Think about playing well.  If he is going to serve long to your backhand, be ready for this.  In the next few days, get someone to practice this serve to you and work on making the backhand topspin stroke simple.  You don't have to do much to it just lift it with some topspin on the table.  This will change their whole tactics and allow you to get into a rally that you like more.

Good luck with the match and let us know how it goes.
