Strokes
Hello, wondering how to hook and fade around the net ? forehand and backhand
Hi Mayo,
You need a lot of soidespin on the ball and the ball has to be wide enough to be able to make this stroke.
Take a look at our lesson on the Sidespin Forehand Topspin. This is the stroke that you should use. Of course the ball has to be in the right position to be able to do that. It is a spectacular shot when it comes off.
I would not focus too much on this though. It is better to work on the standard topspin first.
The forehand chop is a defensive stroke played away from the table. It is mainly used by defenders but can also be incorporated into an attackers game when forced away from the table.
