Attack and defense strategies against antispin

Strategy

Hi,

This is a two part question:

1- When playing against antispin, in which situations do we generally need to defend and only try to receive the serve or a shot? and how?

2- When playing against antispin, when do we attack? Or for example how do we know when the ball has no spin on it and thus there is a chance to attack?

Thanks! İ love all your videos!

best,

emre

Hi Emre,

I think the best thing is to play a backspin ball to the anti spin.  This will give you back a topspin ball that you are able to attack.

If you are forced to play to their forehand or they have the ability to make good forehand attacks, then keep the ball short.

When they attack with the anti spin it can also be a difficult ball to defend.  It is best in this situation to spin the ball.

Thanks for the answer!

One last thing, in which situation, other than a nonspin ball, will the antispin rubber return with no   spin? In other words, which type of stroke with a antispin rubber would neutrilise a spinny ball? If such a thing does exist of course!

Hi Emre,

Whatever spin you generate will come back to you in reverse so if you generate less spin you will get less spin back.
