An opponent has a very strong backspin serve that is fast and low over the net.  It can be short or long.  What's the best way to attack this serve.

Hi Stan,

If the serve comes long, even if it is fast and heavy, then you should try to make a topspin return.

The stroke that you will need is the Forehand Topspin Off Backspin.  The stroke is more vertical to lift the backspin.  When the ball is coming fast it will feel like it is even heavier.

If the serve is short, use a push stroke, Backhand Push.

Fake Movements

After the ball has left the server's bat, they can no longer affect the spin that is on the ball. Any movements after the contact are referred to as fake movements and are meant to confuse you as the receiver. You need to focus on the contact to read the spin.
