Strategy
i've been training for 3 or 4 months already. and my coach told me that my backhand is good and he will develop it more..... but is having a good backhand a good game strategy?
Hi Samuel,
In todays game you need to have 2 strong sides. The ball is moving too fast to be able to cover the table with one side. So having a good backhand is important but so is having a good forehand.
Work on both strokes equally. If you find that your backhand is a lot stronger then spend some time working on the forehand to get it up to the level.
A chopper likes to get back from the table and get into a nice rhythm. If you keep the defender close to the table in the early part of the rally, it's hard for them to transition back into their chopping position. So keep the ball short on your serve and try and catch them unprepared. Watch the video to find out more great tactics to use against a defensive chopper.
