Hi Samuel,

For the backhand chop you use a lot of forearm with your upper arm following through.

Make sure you get your bat up high in the start position.  Near your left ear is a good guide to start with.  Then let the forearm come through and the rest of your arm follow.  It is a little like you are unfolding your arm.

In case you haven't seen it, take a look at our lesson on the Backhand Chop

hey Alois

I have the opposite problem I feel really good chopping with my backhand, but feel awkward on the forehand chop. Any tips for me?

Could it be playing the shot more side on as oppose to more in front of the body for the backhand which feels more natural?
