On the youtube video on the backhand counterhit, he does it so that the ball goes slightly down and quick, but when I try it, it isn't powerful at all, doesn't slant down, and is really slow. How can i fix this

Hi Raymond,

The Backhand counterhit goes down quickly because, if you produce the stroke correctly, you are still putting some topspin on the ball.  If you keep the angle of your racket straight it will generate that spin to get the ball to dip quickly.  To get it more powerful you just need to then move your bat in the same direction exactly but move it through quicker.

Give this a try.
