Receiving
I having trouble doing a backhand topspin against a long fast serve. Could you help?
Hi John,
This can be a difficult ball if you are not in the right position. First make sure you are behind the line of the ball. This may mean that you have to take a small step back away from the table.
When the ball is coming fast you may need to have a more vertical stroke to lift the ball over the net. Often when the ball is moving fast it will come out of your rubber quickly and go straight back into the net.
To be able to receive serve effectively, you need to know how the ball will react when it hits your bat with different types of spin. We go into detail to explain this with the use of our disc wheel.
