Hello,

I want a rubber with more spin and control with less speed for backhand looping, blocking and for playing counter. Can you suggest a rubber with these qualities.

Thanks

Hi Shankar,

At PingSkills we try to focus more on improving your technique rather than worrying about equipment. As long as you choose a reputable Table Tennis brand you can't go too wrong. If you play at a club, try and find a good player whose style you want to emulate and see what rubber they use.

If people are unsure what to buy we usually recommend either Yasaka Mark V or Butterfly Sriver. Both of these are good quality rubbers that allow you to develop your game to a good level.

If anyone else has suggestions fro Shankar then please share them by adding a comment.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!
