How to smash the ball in backhand

Hi Hans,

This is a difficult stroke and one that should only be attempted if you can't get around onto your forehand.

In most cases if the ball is able to be ssmashed you have enough time to get around and play it with your forehand.

But to answer your question, the basics are to start with your bat at around shoulder height and almost touching your left shoulder. Swing through flat and forward and finish wiht your arm extended out at right angles to your body. The bat should stay quite flat throughout the stroke and the contact should be very flat.
