Hey, another quick question. About services again, how do players like Petr Korbel get his backspin on his services? Check out the video on TT-action with him and Timo Boll. There are two parts with him serving. They both look like he's just letting the ball fall onto his racket rubber, and then he just releases his grip on the racket, allowing it to drop slightly. And it doesn't really look like sidespin to me. Could you answer me on how to do this serve and get a decent amount of spin? I like trying a variety of services to suit my game best. Cheers. Chris.

Hi Chris,

The pros always make it look easy.  Theer is however a lot going on there.  The contact is one of the really important factors in getting spin.  These guys can get the angle right consistently.

The other important factor is the speed of the contact. Even though it may not look like they are generating much speed but in fact their wrists are moving very quickly to generate speed and therefore spin on the ball.

In our new DVD "Serving Secrets Revealed" we go through the principles and show you how to generate spin and improve your serves. You cna order it directly through our website.
