Ball tracking

Strokes

Hi alios

I have a bad habit of only tracking the ball halfway, meaning that when I am hitting the ball I start looking at  where I want to place it rather than watching the ball right to my bat. I have watched your videos and tried to correct myself and this only lasts for a few rallies and then I go back to my bad habit causing me to miss the ball completely.

Any suggestions on how to beat this vicious cycle??

Hi Thomas,

This is something that you can keep practicing and getting better at this skill.  In training spend some definite periods where your only focus is to watch the ball.  The start of the session is a good time when you are doing your forehand and backhand warm ups.

It is such a crucial part of developing skills.

It will get better.

I have the same habit, although it's not a bad habit for me. In fact, it helps me get the ball where I want it to go.
