Mental Preparation
Alois,
You've said many, many times to focus on tracking the ball. Just to be clear, are you saying that a player should focus on the ball at all times? Including after you hit the ball and are moving into position for the next shot?
I've read elsewhere that you want to watch your opponent after you hit to get clues as to what he's going to do so you can be better positioned for his return, which makes sense to me, so I just want to make sure I'm understanding you. You're saying throughout the rally, focus on tracking the ball 100% of the time, is that correct?
Hi Gary,
Yes, I think that you should always track the ball and not your opponent. It is too difficult to switch your tracking from the ball to your opponent and then back again.

I think Alois has also said in one of his videos that while focussing on the ball, you will still be able to have the opponent in your peripheral view. So he's not suggesting turning a blind eye to the opponent, just that shifting the focus is neither good nor necessary.
I will try this. I'm definitely not as focussed on the ball as Alois is suggesting.
