Hi Robert,

Becoming a coach is like any other skill. It takes time to develop. With a sport you need to have a good understanding of all the strokes yourself before you can teach them. Then you need to work on dealing with people. A big part of coaching is understanding how to pass on the correct information.

In Australia there are courses available for coaches. You can find out more by ringing your state association. Let me know if you have any troubles finding out about these courses.

Depending on the level, coaches can charge anywhere from $10 an hour to $100 an hour for private coaching. In terms of making money, group coaching can be more effective. Although you would charge a lot less per player, having more players can more than make up for this.

It's great that you are thinking about heading down this path. Let us know if you have any other questions about it.

for me, it's best to be coaching without a charge especially to own family and friends...

that's what i've do untilll today ^^ even i'm not a good player and not really mastered, but it's better to teach for them that wanted to play but don't know the basics...

but... do your best ^^

jeff :

i think it's to expensive for 10$ - 100$ per hour. that'll make most of people not exited. maybe you can do a 10$ - 15$ per month and it will make most of people are interested and want to join and also it will be the best if we can coaching everyone with free or let him/her choose how much want to pay because this's for table tennis and maybe with this there're more people play this and table tennis can be the most famous sports xD

Hi Frendy,

We do want to promote table tennis but on the other hand, PingSkills is a business and as such we want to be able to make money through our website. To do this we need to have charge for some aspects of the site. I feel like the current balance is very good. People who can't afford to pay can still learn so much from the free content on the site. People who are interested and can afford the premium membership are able to access every video we've ever made.
