Hi Julian,

I again go back to my playing days and really enjoyed watching Jiang Jialiang of China.  He was able to play precise hits against a wide variety of balls.  I saw him play in the final of the 1987 world championships against Waldner and also had a chance to play against him in 1986.

At the moment I think Wang Hao is the best.  He is one of the first to play the reverse penhold backhand and still hits this stroke incredibly.

I think he hit one of my favourite shots of all time. In the final of the 2004 World Teams championships in Doha he played Boll in the opening match.  The ball hit the net and he was able to remain balanced and make a counter topspin from close to the table.  It is one of those shots that you look at and wonder... how did he do that?
