Hey,

Ive been playing table tennis with recreational rackets for almost 8 years and was planning on getting a professional racket. I was thinking of Butterfly Primorac, Catapult on forehand and Tenergy 05 on backhand. What would you recommend for an indermediate level player? And what does sponge thikness mean? What is the differnce between 1.9mm and 2.1mm?

Hi Shaheer,

All those types of rubber are OK.  You could even go for something a little slower like Sriver or Mark V for more control to statr with.

The thicker the rubber the more spin you should be able to generate and less control.

I'd recommend that you start from the beginning. Start from the beginning. That way you can develop proper strokes. But if you like, you can choose: These three beginner rubbers: Sriver, Mark V or Flextra. Or if you want, if you really have played well these 8 years, try Sriver, Bryce, Sriver G2 or other rubbers recommended. You might want to ask in a Table Tennis Forums for more info. Catapult is a great rubber. It has the built-in glue effect. Tenergy 05 is I think a bit fast for you. Most players buy what they see and bought them and the rubber will not be reallly suiting your style then you throw it away. Take it from me, start at the beginning and save money. Don't waste your money on rubbers that don't suit you.

Sriver is good but i think its just a little too slow thats why i wanted a rubber with more speed. Anyways, whats so good about Mark V?
