I am a right handed player. When my right handed opponent does a forehand loop, it is slow and the ball spins to my right hand side very wide. How can I block this shot?

I asked because I have to play against this opponent in my finals.

Hi Abishek,

The slow spinny topspin your opponent makes can be a very effective shot. It sounds like he places the ball very well too. You'll need good footwork to move out wide to cover the shot. Take a look at our video on Footwork Basics to see the proper way to move to this ball.

Once you are in position you have a number of options which we explain in our video on how to Counter a Slow Spinny Topspin.

Good luck in your finals. Let us know how you go.
