Brushing of the net

Strokes

Hi Alois,

I still have the problem of brushing the net many times during a forehand rally practice. Most of the rally is spoilt because I brush against the net. I could hit consistently 4-5 times, and the next time I know, it brushes against the net. What can I do? Many thanks.

Hi JinMeng,

If it brushed the net and goes over then that is the perfect shot.  If you are worried about it going into the net put a little more topspin and hit the ball higher.  Then it will dip down onto the table.  Sometimes it is just a matter of aiming higher.

Thank you. When you mentioned hit the ball higher, does it mean reducing on the amount we go forward? Many thanks.

Yes, or just opening the angle of the bat and slowing down your stroke.
