Hi Oliver,

No, I think Tenergy is faster.

I just stuck on a Tenergy 5 max sponge and had a hit with it today and I can confirm that this rubber has wings!!!  On the FH side, it was really impressive.  I was just smoothly stroking the ball, just thinking about placement, and without any effort, and it was still exploding off the table.  However, as soon as I tried to muscle the ball, I just lost all control.  Also, it was really hard to handle with the short game.  This is going to take a lot of practice to get used to!

You can use it on the backhand but you must have a solid foundation and very good technique.

I tried it on my BH but I didn't have a chance of controlling it.  However, I've been using antispin on my BH for the past month and a half so the jump in pace was just a bit too ridiculous to handle in one session!!!

From what I've read, people recommend Tenergy 05 FX over the regular Tenergy 05 for the BH.  The FX version has a softer sponge.  I don't know why a softer sponge is better for BH.  Might be my next question to Alois!

It just provides a bit more control than the harder sponge.

My coach says to never get fx because control is something that you get out of practise and having a control rubber is only going to lower the amount of speed in ur arsenal for something you can work towards.

i have bryce on one of my bats, it is very fast, too fast for me really.  but one of my team-mates uses tenergy on his forehand, it is ridiculously fast, and very unforgiving, id say much faster than bryce, but when you play a good topspin on tenergy with the right closed bat angle it really kicks much faster than anything ive seen, but i wouldnt use it unless you are pretty experienced and dont make many unforced errors. it is an awesome fast spinny rubber though, and gets loads of spin on serves as well.

Now Butterfly have made a new rubber Butterfly Bryce High Speed which they call the fastest rubber in their record and that too faster that Tenergy Series.
