Buying Training Balls

Equipment

Hi Alois,

I am looking to buy balls for training with my robot. The 3 star balls are quite expensive to buy in bulk. Is it ok to train with lower quality balls? I am worried that training with cheap balls might affect my game play. For example I might get used to putting too much power in my shots, and when I go to play matches it might take some time to adjust with good quality balls. What kind of balls are normally used for training?

Hi Abhinav,

Most players will train with balls that are slightly less quality.  There are balls available that are 2 star or assigned as Training Balls that are quite reasonably priced.  You are right it can be too expensive to use 3 Star balls in bulk.

Tone is in Your Fingers

There's is an old saying about guitar playing - tone is in your fingers. And If you've ever seen a really good guitarist play an old guitar then you'll understand how true that saying is. I know we go on a lot about this topic but it is so true. Once you've got yourself a decent bat, it's no longer up to the equipment, it's up to YOU!

AFAIK, when Dan from TTD visited the Chinese National Team training centre for filming his documentary, he found out that they use DHS ** plastic balls for practice.
