Can my backhand be the main weapon?

Hi Coach.

I Play 80% of by game using backhand drive, loop & push. forhand only use ocassionally. just I feel more comfortable with my backhand action. any comment about this? Is there any good player mainly using backhand shots?

Hi Dave,

Australia's best player, William Henzell, has a stronger backhand then forehand. There is nothing wrong with playing to your strengths. So yes, your backhand can be your main weapon.

However to develop your game to the higher levels, you need to be good off both wings so I would suggest it is still important for you to try and improve your forehand.

There's probably a limit to how good you can be without a good forehand, but within that limit I find personal quirks like playing backhand all the time can really frustrate opponents who are used to 'typical' players.
