Strokes
Hi sir alois. I have a question. I'm struggling with my backhand chop return cos the ball bounces high and my opponent have the advantage to attack.. Should I change my rubber into pimple? or I'll replace it with thick inverted rubber? thanks in advance..
Hi Alex,
I think the better solution is to change your stroke slightly. Aim lower.
The two things that determine the height of the push are the angle of your swing and the contact on the ball. So to get the ball lower flatten out the angle of your bat and brush the ball more finely. Experiment and see if you can get the ball lower.
The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:
If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.
