I am not a lefty, I have problems regarding the spin of the ball to different direction. I can spin the ball but my strokes can only go to the left side of the opponent's table. How could I spin the ball to the right side of the table easily? Thank you for the response :)

Hi Tyrone,

To change direction all you need to do is to use the angle of the wrist.  It doesn't take much of a change in the angle in your wrist to make a big difference to the place the ball will go.  Just by turning your wrist back a little.  You can also change the timing of your shot.  By hitting the ball a little later the ball will go down the line.

Backhand loop Countering Forehand sidespin attack

Forehand Counterhit

The forehand counterhit or forehand drive is the foundation for more attacking strokes such as the forehand topspin or forehand loop. There are 3 critical factors:

  1. Your feet position
  2. Your start position
  3. Your finish position

If you concentrate on these 3 factors then your stroke will become extremely consistent. Once you can reliably hit 100 balls in a row then you are ready for more attacking strokes. If you can hit 1,000 balls on in a row then you know you've truly mastered the stroke.

Focus on changing the timing and the wrist and see what you can do.
