I am playing Table Tennis  in India(ladies) for the last 4 years using pimpled rubber and the Challenger on the forehand. I have shifted to plain from pimpled and suddenly I am loosing control and loosing matches.

What according to you are the adjustments required?

I have a good backhand but in the matches I am unable to control them?

Was the changing of rubbers a wise move?

Hi Disha,

I think in the long run it may be better for you.  I think you need to think about your game and whether it is going to suit you.  Some players do play better with pimpled rubber.  What type of pimples were you using on the backhand?

Do you like playing defensively or attacking on both sides?

Hi Alois ,

Thanks for your reply .  I  was using short pimple and I like playing  both defensive and attacking depending  on the opponent . My push is not coming proper on the table like the way I was playing with pimple . Sometimes I play strokes that we can play with only pimple than with  plain rubber .  I am 13 years old and play in Sub Juniors.

I think at 13 you have time to be able to change and adapt.  It is a matter of getting used to the different spin that is coming off the rubber as compared to the pimple.

Just decide on one of the rubbers and then keep working hard.
