Equipment
I have been playing TT for 1 year now and I'm in need for a new cheap blade. So I came here to ask if you knew of any CHEAP blades (without rubber) that I could purchase as I have little to pay for a my love of TT.
I am devoloping a high topspin back and forehand stroke but my paddle is toast.
Thank you in advance.
Hi Jack,
You can get an old bat even a cheap pre made bat and use the blade form that. I have tried it and it works really well. The more important thing is the quality of the rubber.

For a backup paddle I was thinking of doing 729 FX Super rubber by RITC on both fore and backhand. Is that a good choice ?
Yes it is a good rubber.

I'll put that on a pre-made paddle. Thank you for all the tips.

Also for learning my strokes etc. what thickness would be best?
You will be able to use a 2mm sponge.
