Hi , last week I was just watching some of the videos of chinese table tennis players like ma long , wang liqin etc . I was so much impressed the way some of them like wang liqin play . He have such a great height ( I also have almost the same height as 5`10 ) and the way he bends his body to such a great extent so that he needs not to move his full body to play a shot and remains at the center of the table and still generates so much spin and speed with his long actions . So can you please tell me how can I train so that I can make my body flexible upto that extent and bring strength to my hand to generate more speed and spin .

Hi Tushar,

One of the biggest things is Wang Liqin's leg strength.  This gives him stability and the ability to move so well.  You will notice that all the Chinese players have very strong legs and their balance is immaculate during a rally.

Focus on keeping your legs really bent throughout the rally.  PRactice a lot of footwork drills where you have this as your focus.  This will then enable you to play with good speed because you will be able to use your whole body in the stroke.

Forehand Flick

When your opponent plays a short ball to your forehand, you can play an attacking stroke by using the flick. This stroke is also known as the flip.
