Choosing a racquet

Equipment

Hi,

I've been playing for a while, though primarily just at the office, and want my game to improve. I feel the right racquet will play a big part in it. My game is primarily composed of chops, spins & smashes. Of late, I've been really impressed with the GKI Hitback, a bit heavy but much superior than its counterparts in the same & even higher price range (like Butterfly Addoy 1000 & 2000). Is it a good one to go for? Or do you suggest any other at even double the price of Hitback? Also, I remember playing with GKI Ninja sometime back & liking it? What are your thoughts on this racquet?

Thanks!

Hi Nikhil,

Both the Hitback and Ninja are OK as starter bats.  They will give you a little bit of spin.  You will find that after a few months you will probably outgrow the bat and need to move up.

Hi Alois,

Thanks for the prompt reply! I think I could be classified as an intermediate player, at least at the office level. In this case, could you suggest some other racquet higher up the quality ladder?

Thanks again!

Hi Nikhil,

They get a bit more expensive as you go up.  I think the main thing is the rubber. See if you can find some Mark V rubber or a bat with Mark V rubber on it.  We do have one as well.  PingSkills Touch.
