Strategy
Hey it's Eric. I'm the type of player that doesn't like to stand too close to the table unless I have to because a lot of my opponents try to smash or pass me. My question is should I use a slice to defend the smash, or is the lob towards the back of the table the best option? I really want to master the chop because it tends to stay low.

          Hi Eric,
I think the chop is a better option than the lob as it makes it more difficult for your opponent to play a strong shot. If you can master a low chop with good spin you can keep your opponent on the defence as well.
Most table tennis rallies last just 3.4 shots. So if you want to win more matches, you need to master the short game! In this episode of the PingSkills Show, you’ll learn why the short game is so important and how to control the first few shots to stop your opponent from attacking first.
Whether you’re struggling with your short push, not sure when to flick, or want to stop giving away easy attacks, this video will help you play smarter.
