Hi alois!

I am a pen holder. Usually, when i received a short/slow push, i waited the ball bounced, then goes down until the ball is low (above the table), then i chop it like make a side spin serve (usually i use left side spin), so when the ball was bounced it doesn't bounce high and sometimes change his directions, the problem is, is it good? Can i used it in my school table tennis competition?

If it good, can you give me more advice to make it better? Then, the next prob my father receive it with a lob, but i not a good smasher, what i can do except smash it? It is hard to make a drop shot for my father's lob, so i just try to train my smash, but, nah, i still make the ball out or hit the net, and the worst it bounce at my own table

Hi Kevin,

I think it is better to hit the ball earlier before it comes up high.  This will give your opponent less time.  The sidespin can be effective at a school level especially if they don't understand spin.

Keep working on your smash.  THat is the best solution.  It will get better.

Ow, thank you, but which is better, make the ball can bounce twice on the table or the faster one?

Last year i had win the school level, but i had beaten at the city level (my city doesnt a big city, there are just about 14 junior high school), but last year i havent understand spin for push or strokes, i just understood spin for serves, now i could make some chop for a slow strokes or push, and i think thats amazing, thank you sir alois!

My prob with smash is if i smash the ball with full power, usually i cant get a good accuracy, but if i concentrate with the accuracy my smash being slow that easily to received

Hi Kevin,

A shorter ball is better in general so that they can't attack.

If you smash to a good position then it can still keep you in a strong position.
