Hello Coach,

I have a butterfly Yuki FL with the flextra rubber. I am experiencing many stains on the rubber which look like oil and grease stains . I tried using  a damp sponge and cleaning it. Then i tried the breath and hand cleaning techqnique. The stains are as it was earlier. Can you give some tips to clean rubbers. Will it affect my spin, speed and ball control?

Yours sincerely

Atharva

Hi Atharva,

If they are black stains where your finger is holding the bat then it won't effect the performance of the bat.

If they are oily stains you could use a weak solution of soap with water to remove the oil.

Others may have advice for you.

To be honest, if you've got oil and grease stains on your rubber, it might be time for a new set. Are you still able to generate any spin with your old rubbers?
