Strokes
Hi guys
thanks for doing a great job in teaching TT basics.
I have been comparing Alois & Jeff's basic forehand counter with that demonstrated by WLQ among others.
Its noticeable that you guys complete your forehands with the traditional 'salute', whereas modern internationals seem to perform an elliptical motion so that the follow through flows into the recovery:-Forehand with builtin recovery by WLQ
what do you think?
Hi Paddy,
Their technique is good at a higher level and only for a faster finishing ball.
However when learning especially, it is important to get the swing correct. If you watch most forehead topspin strokes their finish is still in line with the mid line of the body with the arm in a 90 degree position at the elbow.
