Strokes
Hey,
There are various shots in the table tennis (there are topspin, backspin, chop, block & counter),I want to know what is the appropriate contact point of the ball that make consistent deliver in every execution.
if I hit same contact point of the ball, is not make same direction of rally, if every rally comes same path, that make easy for opponents, so I want to know appropriate contact point of the ball & use of it we can change rally detection.

Hi Kabir,
You can contact the ball at every point on the back half of the ball and sometimes even further forward.
For each shot the contact point will change. For counterhit you can hit straight at the back of the ball. For Topspin more on the top part of the ball and for backspin more on the bottom part of the ball.
For a change of direction you can hit the ball slightly on the side of the middle point as the ball is coming to you. This is just a matter of millimetres to get the ball to change direction.
The game is interesting because it opens up so many different possibilities.
The strawberry flick is the opposite of the banana flick and involves utilising the wrist to get the ball spinning with topspin and sidespin. Used in conjunction with the banana flick it can be very deceptive. The banana flick is a more reliable stroke and that's why you see more top players using it over the strawberry flick.
