Strokes
usually when we hit a forehand smash,we get a return smash back on to our forehand side.or when we chop to the right side of a right hand player,he smashes on our forehand side..but how to return back a forehand smash, when the opponent smashes our forehand smash onto our backhand side?
Hi Vineeth,
It is a matter of being balanced so that you can move both ways. If you are waiting on the forehand side it is always difficult to adjust so quickly to the backhand. Try to remain in a neutral position and then watch the ball carefully. By watching the ball you will pick up a little earlier where the ball is going and therefore give yourself a better chance of returning it.
How is it that a player can always seem to get back those extremely fast topspins? Is it their incredible anticipation? The key to good anticipation actually lies in tracking the ball well. When you watch the ball closely your peripheral vision will pick up your opponents movements and with lots of practice those signs will help you anticipate what your opponent is going to do. This happens naturally with lots of experience. So it it your job to ensure that you are tracking the ball really carefully.
