1 what is the different between smash and topsin
2 when should we use topspin instead of using smash

Hi Leon,

A smash is a flatter contact with the ball going faster and more directly onto the table.

You should use the smash only when the ball is high enough for you do so.  That is usually when the ball is around shoulder high or higher.  When it is up that high there is enough margin for error with the straight line the ball will make.  When the ball is lower the topspin helps the ball to dip onto the table after it has cleared the net.
