Hi coaches

Some people say I play close the table , Some people say I play middle distance the table and Some people say I play far the table.

But everyone's distance perception is different so what is your idea? what is close the table distance what is medium distance and what is long distance (ıf we think in meters?)

thanks

Hi Mehmet,

Here is a guide:

Close to the table is where you can just touch the table when you are in the ready position.

Middle distance is when your bat is about a meter away from the table.

Long Distance is anything further than that.

"touch the table" with what?
Bat,or body?

I often hear people saying that a good player must finish all his strokes above his table :/

What do you think about it?

So we can say that many professional players  are the middle distance player.  isnt it? They rarely get away

That is right Mehmet.  A lot of Table Tennis is played from the mid distance.

DK, touch the table with the bat..  I am not sure that you should finish all your strokes above the table.  It depends on where you are playing them from and what type of strokes you are playing.

Where I am playing them from..what do you mean?

Of course they mean it for offensive strokes.
Many players here think like "the best way to lose is to stop hitting hard and well-aimed attacks"
