Hi Ivan,

We do have a lesson on this in our Match Strategy section.  Take a look at what is available in Doubles Strategy.

Some key points are moving well with your partner and also making sure you understand the strength of the person you are hitting to in each game.

Tactics Against Penhold Players

When playing penhold players it is important to remember to first analyse your opponent as you would if they used any grip. What are their strengths and weaknesses? A common weakness of penhold players is their forehand block especially against a slow spinny topspin. Their backhand may be a weakness if they use the traditional style, or you may wish to explore the crossover point if they are using the reverse penhold backhand.

Chemistry and good communication between you and your partner is very important especially during the serve. Knowing each other's playing style well and what would they do in a certain situation will help you or your partner to navigate safely out of the way while the other player are doing their job. Paying good attention to your enemy is quite important and discussing with your partner about strategy not only improve gameplay but chemistry. Hope this helps :)
