it is said that if i want to enhance my rubbers and improve their grip i should take some oil from the kitchen and dip a brush completely and brush my rubber with the oil and wait 30 mins and repeat this 3-5 times.
is this true or not true?
Hi Mina,
I haven't tried this so don't know for sure. If anyone has experimented with this let us all know.
The thickness of a table tennis table is the most important aspect of a table to ensure you get a true consistent bounce. Other things to consider are the net, portability, and storage space.

I've also seen some of those videos on youtube and it gave my dead bat some of it's grip back for about 3 days. However I've usually been told that simple maintenance is the best way to make the most of your rubber. Clean with a bit of water, ensure bat is kept away from heat, dust, moisture (plastic protector and in bag when not in use).
Oils may be a way to enhance your rubbers but I have reason to believe it's only temporary and possibly detrimental in the long run.

Rumors are out that some top players are using several layers of undetectable neutral baby oil, the rubbers are said to be prepared before gluing to the blade. Won’t be necessary for most of us though, as we can combine incredible fast and effective combinations, using the legal fast blades and tension rubbers on the market.
It si best to stick with what is legal and focus on technique and improving the game.

I also watched some vids on youtube about this but don't just simply follow the advice of youtubers, instead follow the advice of pingskillers or any other table tennis forum member, we know best, not youtubers. Putting oil is illegal, only do this for your old bats, never on your new main bat
